One day workshop
Come for an inspiring day in my studio which has spectacular views over Romney Marsh and farmlands, the perfect enviroment for a relaxing day learning an array of hand embroidery stitches using woollen yarns from the very basics to more simple but effective ways to embelish these simple stitches for a more elaborate finish. Using wool is a speedy way to create a finished project in no time. If you crochet or knit, you may like to bring some left over wools to use on your projects too.
In the first half of the day you will concentrate on creating a stitch sampler book to learn and remember these stitches, then after lunch you will be shown how to apply them to a cushion or panel as shown in my latest book BIG EMBROIDERY.
These classes are suitable for beginners through to those wishing to revisit embroidery or those who want to learn how to use the technique to create their own designs.
I will be showing you how to use simple iron on transfers to create an initial letter of your choice.
All materials are included but, please bring with you some small sharp scissors, and any left over wool you might have in your scrap bag.
Linen, threads, needles, felt, iron transfers to try and take home. You will also be given a stitch poster so you will never forget the stitches you have learned in the course of the day. I have a large collections of embroidery books to browse through over lunch.
All our kits will also be available on the day at a special reduced rate.
